At Diamond Freight Systems, Inc., we’re continuously updating our existing processes and taking charge of streamlining KPIs. To keep in line with our knowledge-based style, we’ll be looking at some of the key aspects of the supply chain that will continue to face updates throughout 2022.
“Robert Falerta, Executive Chairman of the Channel Company, discussed this changing environment in a recent editorial at CRN. He discusses the merger of Tech Data and Synnex as one industry event that will have a significant global impact on distribution and logistics.”
With these two innovative companies merging, the worldwide freight industry is on the cusp of even more inevitable changes, as the competition has become even stiffer.
After all, even in a post-2020 world, consumers still expect to have their products available when they want them and how they want them.
The main issues the industry is facing, however, are numerous.
The following list captures a snapshot of some solutions to problems we should all continue to expect in 2022 in the industry as a whole:
- Circular supply chains are already seeing increased usage and prominence in the freight industry. Circular supply chains are directly in line with reaping the benefits of reusing recycled products, especially extracting raw materials related to hard-to-find technology parts.
- Last Mile as a Service (LMaaS) is a premium choice in many medium and small-time logistic companies ranging from 3PLs and regular freight companies. Historically, LMaaS has proven to be challenging to implement for many medium and small-time freight companies.
- The increase in omnichannel retail directly affects customers’ expectations of receiving their purchase at lightning-fast speeds. For supply chains, this translates to having high benchmarks to achieve and exceed. As described by legacyscs.com, implementing omnichannel retail may be the most challenging hurdle yet for the freight industry.
These are just a few of the issues the industry will be faced within 2022 and beyond. So keep in mind, if your transportation needs are not being met or you aren’t sure what to do next, we at Diamond Freight Systems, Inc.
